We had a stop over in Phuket on our way through from Sydney to our holiday destination in Koh Samui, a friend suggested we go to Surin beach rather than Patong as it's less touristy so we stumbled across Baan Chayna and spent one night and one day there. They organised a motorbike for us and we enjoyed riding around the area visiting Surin beach and getting to know the local spots around Cherngtalay.The first thing you will notice is how friendly the locals are and what a good vibe the place has. It is the perfect holiday destination! The pool was beautiful and the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was basic with a decent shower and very clean. The tv was broken but it didn't hinder us from having a great time! all in all an enjoyable time spent, The only negative is that if you are new to the area and are getting a taxi from the airport the taxi drivers have trouble finding the place.

Found this gem at the end of our fabulous holiday in Thailand. Stayed in many hotels during our stay and Baan Chayna has by far the nicest bedrooms and lovely bathroom.beautifully decorated, comfortable . Our room was on the ground floor with the pool just outside...an oasis! Everything clean and beautiful to the eye. Two beaches within a short walk....Bang tao and the most sophisticated beach of Surin. The owner Frederic so helpful and friendly...we will be back.
